The European semiconductor sector is speaking out more forcefully than ever for a joint industry and innovation policy.
Meanwhile, 86 organizations have signed the Industry Endorsement of the Semicon Coalition Europe - a joint call to European policymakers to work with the industry to build a strong, competitive, and future-proof semiconductor ecosystem.
The Semicon Coalition Europe is a joint initiative of companies, industry associations, and knowledge institutions to strengthen the European semiconductor sector.
The growth to 86 signatories demonstrates broad support for an integrated European approach, focusing on collaboration and clear policy agreements.
The joint statement calls on policymakers to take decisive action and work together with the industry to achieve three structural priorities:
Strong leadership and clear responsibility
From both the European Commission and the member states to translate the Semicon Declaration into concrete policies and actions.Improved conditions for entrepreneurship
Faster permit processes, reliable energy supply, an attractive talent policy, and open access to critical raw materials.A market-driven business case for Europe
Focused on investments that meet the growing demand from sectors such as AI, automotive, energy, and defense.

Among the signatories are also imec and High Tech NL, beide partners binnen het ChipNL CC-consortium. Zij ondersteunen de gezamenlijke doelen van de Semicon Coalition Europe om de Europese halfgeleidersector te versterken
