From June 24th to 26th, 2025, an international Innovation Mission took place, during which a delegation of Austrian semiconductor companies and knowledge institutions visited the Netherlands and Belgium.
The mission, organized by Silicon Alps Cluster in collaboration with CCCNL, aimed to stimulate collaboration within the European semiconductor landscape.
The three-day mission consisted of company visits, knowledge exchange, and networking moments in Enschede, Nijmegen, Eindhoven, and Leuven (BE). In total, more than twenty representatives of Austrian organizations participated, including NXP Semiconductors Austria, Infineon Technologies Austria, Silicon Austria Labs, and the Austrian Chips Competence Center.
Semicon in connection: from technology to talent
On Tuesday, June 24, the program started in Twente, with visits to the University of Twente, the MESA+ Institute, and PHIX Photonics Assembly. The Austrian delegation gained a good insight into the regional innovation power and expertise in the field of integrated photonics and chip assembly.
On Wednesday, June 25, the program continued in Nijmegen and Eindhoven. In the morning, a networking lunch took place at the Novio Tech Campus, organized by the ChipNL Competence Centre, in the presence of various Dutch semiconductor companies.
Later that day, an informal networking dinner took place in Best, also coordinated by CCCNL and made possible by BABEG - Carinthian Business Agency. These meetings provided opportunities for deepening contacts, exchanging knowledge, and exploring collaboration.
To Leuven: cross-border cooperation
On Thursday, June 26, the delegation traveled to Leuven, where a visit to imec was on the agenda. This strengthened the European dimension of this mission: an initiative that contributes to cross-border cooperation and technological autonomy within Europe.
