Our presence underscores the role of the Netherlands in the semiconductor world.
Last week, we from the ChipNL Competence Centre (CCCNL) were present at the European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2025 in Utrecht. With our booth, we met entrepreneurs, researchers, and policymakers from around the world. It was a valuable opportunity to showcase the Dutch semiconductor sector internationally and to establish new connections.

What we take away from EuMW 2025
The conference offered a rich mix of insights and discussions. A few themes that were particularly relevant for us:
AI in 6GWe saw how the integration of AI in future 6G networks can improve service quality, adaptive connectivity, and infrastructures.
Digital sustainability refers to the concept of ensuring that digital technologies and practices are environmentally friendly and do not harm the planet. It involves reducing the carbon footprint of digital activities, promoting energy efficiency, and minimizing electronic waste. By adopting sustainable practices in the digital realm, we can help protect the environment for future generations. We spoke with experts about how sustainability is not just a technological challenge, but also revolves around business models, regulations, and societal values.
EntrepreneurshipFor us, it became clear once again that sustainable ventures are built on trust, motivation, and collaboration, and not on short-term returns.
Supply chain challengesThe sector is facing urgent challenges such as heterogeneous integration, standardization in packaging, and the development of specialized talent. CCCNL also plays an important role in this.
New technologiesDevelopments such as phased array antennas, AI-driven antenna design, and satellite communication with solar power generation are promising for the future.
Our role in Europe
As a national hub, we help Dutch companies and knowledge institutions to find their way to talent, expertise, and financing. Our presence at EuMW once again confirms how important it is to be internationally visible and to actively collaborate within the European network of 26 Competence Centres.
We look back with pride on a successful week in Utrecht. With the insights gained and new contacts made, we continue to build a thriving Dutch semiconductor sector within a strong and resilient European ecosystem.
