Strengthening European cooperation in the semiconductor sector

The Riga Chip Summit 2026 brings together companies, knowledge institutions, investors, Chips Competence Centres, startups, and SMEs from the Nordic-Baltic region and the broader European semiconductor ecosystem.

As the first chip-specific summit in Latvia, the event provides a platform for knowledge exchange, joint exploration, and international cooperation. The program focuses on opportunities, routes, and challenges related to advancing chip-related business ideas within the framework of the Chips Joint Undertaking.

ChipNL Competence Centre participates in the program as part of the European network of Chips Competence Centres. Peter-Jan Hendrikx, Partner Manager at ChipNL CC, presents the Dutch semiconductor ecosystem and the role of ChipNL CC in connecting companies, knowledge institutions, and European support opportunities.

Support for startups, SMEs, and scale-ups

The summit provides companies with more insight into the European microchip ecosystem and support opportunities through Chips JU. Topics include access to pilot lines, funding routes, technology readiness levels, co-financing, intellectual property, and the path to commercialization.

The program consists of presentations, startup showcases, matchmaking, and networking opportunities. These components help participants explore new collaborations and better understand how companies can take the next step in chip-related innovation.
